Prior Allegations & Investigations

Make Your Date (MYD) / Preferential Treatment Allegations

Reporting and City of Detroit OIG materials alleged preferential treatment for the prenatal program “Make Your Date,” including city assistance with fundraising and deletion of emails. An OIG report documented the allegations; subsequent reporting noted that deleted emails were later recovered and released.

Michigan Attorney General Criminal Investigation (MYD)

The Michigan Attorney General conducted a criminal investigation into the MYD allegations. An Investigator’s Summary Report dated March 8, 2021 concluded no criminal charges would be filed.

FBI Informant Identity Disclosure (Towing Probe)

Duggan acknowledged that he unintentionally revealed the identity of a confidential FBI informant during a corruption probe involving towing operations. Duggan stated he did not know the individual was an informant at the time.
